Why are Brown Spots So Difficult to Get Rid Of?
Posted: Dec 21 2017
Unfortunately, I have first-hand experience in this matter…
Florida summers are HOT and I love being outside. Don’t we all. I always use hats and lots of SPF. So why was I getting spots on my forehead?
My dermatologist confirmed that my hormonal balance was in flux due to my age, but that the spot around my “hat band” was due to over-heating. While the sun is to blame for many pigmentation problems, heat, hormones and aggressive simulation (aka rubbing, allergies, etc) can cause pigmentation reactions.
I’m not going to say inside so I have adjusted my routines and it has helped tremendously. Pre workout, I apply Vitamin C Serum and then SPF. I gently work in a drop extra of serum around the headband area. Post workout, and soon as I am out of the sun, I take my head gear off and try to cool the skin with water, misting or some ice.
In the evening, I use Vitamin-A and again a bit extra on the forehead. Of course, I do light peeling about once a month and take a 2 to 3 day break. This seems to keep the spots a bay.
